Martingale style custom ordered kangaroo leather collar.

Here is where you can design a Martingale style collar of your own design.  All leather?  Or a leather and chain mix?  You select leather or metal/chain for each component.  Refer to the diagram when selecting composition.  Select leather or chain for each component, to create your very personal and unique collar!

Glass Beads are not added to these collars.  A flat kindness pad may be added for additional cost.

Component Selections (Refer to diagram)

  • Active Ring - This is what attaches to your lead's braided loop or snap hook end.  If selecting a leather braided loop for the active ring, a leather half-check must be chosen.
  • Half-Check - This can be leather or chain regardless of other selections.  It can even be a different color leather than the leather neck if preferred.  i.e. a multi-color braided half-check which matches your lead but with a solid white or solid black leather neck.
  • Connector Rings - This is what attaches the neck to the half-check.  If selecting a chain neck, these will be metal.
  • Neck - This can be leather or chain regardless of other selections with the exception that if a chain neck is chosen, the connector rings will also be metal.

Additional

Kindness Pads
- These may be added on leather necks only and will match the braid selection, i.e. 4 strand flat braid pad on 4 strand collars and 6 strand flat braid on 6 strand collars.  A toy dog can use a 6 strand pad without it's being bulky or heavy.  Just select the 6 strand braid for this option.

To select colors, please add a Note indicating all leather colors.  Four strand leads will need 4 colors annotated, which may all be the same color, for a solid color braid.  Respectively, six strand leads should have 6 colors noted.  There should be no more than 2 foil colors in a collar of this style.  You may select different colors for the leather half-check and leather neck.

Care Instructions

Leather Care:

Included with each show lead order you'll find a container of leather conditioner. Use sparingly, as needed.  For more information on how to care for leather visit Caring for your leather.

Glass Beads Care:

We use only kiln annealed glass beads and those which have the proper thickness for the size of hole. This ensures their strength and integrity are optimal. You do not have to be overly cautious but it does not mean unbreakable.

Take care of your glass as you would any glass item. Store your lead in the bag it came in or in a cloth bag and clean glass with a damp cloth if needed. Leather conditioner is not for use on glass beads or their settings.
